Labour Affairs : Efforts to creat healthy workplaces

On Saturday, Union Minister for Labor U Khin Maung Soe, accompanied by concerned officials, met with workers from workplaces registered at the Social Security Board within Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory and members of Occupational Safety and Health Committee and Workplace Coordinating Committee.

At Pyinmana Sugar Mill, the Unoin Minister heard reports on creating healthy workplaces, workers’ rights and entitlements under labour laws and lawful resolution of disputes between employers and workers. The Union Minister stated that the visit aims to address the concerns effectively and promptly, and coordinated requirements.

Subsequently, the Union Minister and party observed the provision of healthcare services to insured workers by mobile medical units and cordially greeted the workers.  At Moe Thiri Textile Factory, the Union Minister oversaw the healthcare service provisions of mobile medical unit, and met with the workers.

There, the Union Minister heard reports presented by officials and members of Occupational Safety and Health Committee and Workplace Coordinating Committee and gave necessary instructions.

A total of 308 insured workers from Pyinmana Sugar Mill and 135 insured workers from Moe Thiri Textile Factory received necessary healthcare provisions including laboratory test, ECG test, as well as medical supplies.

In Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, healthcare services are being provided to over 29,000 insured workers through three Township Social Security Clinics, five fee-for-service contracted clinics, four specialist clinics, and mobile medical units.

During 2025–2026 financial year, over 130,000 insured workers received medical treatment, while more than 58,000 insured workers received on-site medical services at factories and workplaces from April to August 2026.
