Every citizen has a duty to safeguard the three national causes “non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of national solidarity, and perpetuation of national sovereignty.

In addition, the 2008 Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar stipulates that “every citizen has the duty to safeguard the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.”

In order to enable citizens to discharge these duties in accordance with the People’s Military Service Law enacted to put these constitutional provisions into practice, People’s Military Service training courses are being conducted for young citizens who have enthusiastically volunteered to enlist.

On September 19th, training completion ceremonies for the 26th batch of the People’s Military Service Training Course were held at local training schools under various Regional Military Commands. The ceremonies were conducted in accordance with the training completion parade agenda, during which the trainees, holding the national flag, took the oath of allegiance.

The respective officials delivered training completion addresses at the training schools, and certificates and awards were presented to trainees who excelled in various fields during the course.

Following the training completion ceremonies, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, Chief Ministers of respective regions and states, Commanders of the respective Regional Military Commands and other officials who attended the ceremonies met with the trainees, delivered words of encouragement, and warmly greeted and encouraged them.

It is learnt that the trainees of the 26th batch of the People’s Military Service Training were provided with both theoretical and practical training in physical fitness, military drill, military tactics and general subjects through systematic instruction and exercises.
