Myanmar Delegation in Minsk : Delegation visited agricultural and livestock laboratories

A Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Ye Tun Win, who is currently in Minsk to study agricultural and livestock cooperation and technical matters between Myanmar and Belarus, met with Deputy Minister for Agriculture and Food of Belarus Mr. Ivan Smilgin on September 15.

During the meeting, they discussed matters concerning the strengthening of technical cooperation in agriculture and livestock, trade, and economic cooperation between Myanmar and Belarus. Next, the Myanmar delegation led by Deputy met with the Director-General and officials of the Belarusian State Association for Livestock Breeding “Belplemzhivoboedinenie,” where they discussed dairy cattle breeding and feed production.

They also toured and studied the cattle breeding laboratory. Afterwards, the delegation visited the Minsk Tractor Plant and studied tractor manufacturing processes and the technical specifications and quality of various types of machinery.

On September 16, the Myanmar delegation visited the Scientific and Production Centre of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Agriculture, where they studied agricultural crop cultivation, fodder crop cultivation, seed production, agricultural production systems, livestock breeding, the embryo transfer laboratory and the animal nutrition laboratory.

They also studied dairy cattle breeding, animal feed production and milking operations at the ZhodinoAgroPlemElita breeding enterprise. Similarly, on September 17, the delegation studied animal feed production, the manufacture of feed mixtures and supplements, and amino-acid production at the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation.

They also studied poultry farming and meat-product processing operations at JSC Agrokombinat Dzerzhinsky. It is reported that the Myanmar delegation undertook the study visits to gain knowledge of Belarus’s agricultural and livestock breeding technologies and production systems and to explore opportunities for strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
