UK, Ireland 'look forward' to talks on 'stronger' Europe ties

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Irish counterpart Micheál Martin said they are "looking forward" to talks on strengthening ties with the European Union, which Britain exited in 2020. Mr. Martin is the first foreign leader to visit Number 10 North, with Ireland being the current chair of the rotating EU Council presidency.

Both sides agreed on strong engagement and interaction in a global world marked by a lot of uncertainty and multilateralism and enhance bilateral relationship. They also focused on humanitarian needs and rights in the Middle East, security and peace measures for future.
