MPT Mobile phone lines of Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications in Falam Township have been restored, and starting today on September 16, arrangements are being made to enable returning residents to use their MPT mobile phone SIM cards again.

Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thant Zaw Lwin, Chin State Government Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Win Zaw Oo, and members of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee visited to inspect and encourage the efforts.

Due to violent incidents, telephone communication lines in Falam Township were cut off, and only the MEC-CDMA phone line was in use. Now that MPT Mobile phone lines have been restored, Chin State MPT employees are based at the Falam Township General Administration Department, providing services for re-applying for lost and damaged MPT Mobile SIM cards, registering SIM cards, and selling new SIM cards.

The Deputy Minister warmly greeted and encouraged local residents who came to apply for SIM cards. Continuing, the Deputy Minister and party inspected the repair work being carried out on partially damaged departmental buildings such as the electricity distribution facility, the 66/11kV power substation building, the substation staff housing, and the district and township Forestry Department buildings.

They instructed local companies repairing key infrastructure essential to the township's rehabilitation to work cooperatively with relevant departments with dedication, in accordance with standards, ensuring material quality, timely completion, and good construction quality, it’s reported.
