







Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, together with the Yangon Region Chief Minister and officials, visited the Seikkyikhanaungto (Twante Canal) Bridge Project site on 13 September.
Officials reported on the progress of construction and the current and future work plans. After hearing the report, the Union Minister stressed the need to complete the project within the scheduled timeframe, meeting the set standards. He also outlined the town plan for the area between Dala and the Seikkyikhanaungto Bridge.
He then inspected the bridge construction site. The Seikkyikhanaungto (Twante Canal) Bridge connects Dala and Seikkyikhanaungto in Yangon Region. The bridge is more than 2,400 feet long and can withstand 60 tons of load. The Union Minister and party also inspected the proposed site for a railway flyover at the junction of the Yangon–Pyay and Khayaypin railways near Danyingon Station in Insein Township.
Officials reported on the feasibility study, soil tests and preparations for the railway flyover project. The Union Minister said the flyover project aims to improve road safety and reduce traffic congestion, as Yangon Circular Railway trains pass through the area about 23 times a day. He then inspected the proposed construction site and gave necessary instructions. Upon completion, the railway flyover is expected to help ease traffic congestion for commuters and facilitate the smooth flow of trade.
