5th Monsoon Tree-Planting : YGN Region CM participated in the tree planting

Under the guidance of the Yangon Region Government, the Fifth Monsoon Tree-Planting Ceremony of 2026 was held on Saturday in the Hlawga Watershed Area, Mingaladon Township, Mingaladon District, Yangon Region.

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu attended the ceremony and delivered the opening remarks. Together with relevant officials, local residents and students, the Chief Minister participated in the planting of trees. He then inspected and encouraged officials and staff from the relevant departments of the region who were planting a total of 3,000 shade trees of various species.

Next, the Chief Minister and members of Region Government inspected farms and ongoing agricultural and livestock breeding activities, as well as an advanced animal feed pellet factory, in Taikkyi and Hmawbi townships. The Chief Minister gave necessary guidance and instructions to the responsible officials and made arrangements to fulfil the requirements.

Afterwards, the Chief Minister and members of Region Government inspected the construction of a water collection pond at Dagon University and the ongoing pumping of silt and sand for landscaping as part of measures to ensure cleanliness, a pleasant environment and proper drainage within the university compound. After the responsible officials reported on the progress of the works, the Chief Minister gave necessary instructions, it’s reported.
