2,977 drones light up New York Harbor in remembrance of 9/11 attacks

A total of 2,977 drones lit up the skies above New York Harbor on Thursday evening in commemoration of the 11 September 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center buildings. According to US Transport Secretary Sean Duffy, each drone represents “a life lost on that tragic day”.

In a post on social media, Duffy said “this breathtaking tribute stands as a solemn reminder of America’s resilience and the extraordinary courage of the heroes and first responders who gave everything”.
