Inspection of Rehabilitation Works: MOSWRR DM inspected rehabilitation works in Tonzang

Due to the impacts of terrorist incidents in Chin State, rehabilitation and reconstruction works are being carried out in Falam, Tedim, and Tonzang Townships. In this regard, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, Dr. Thant Zaw Lwin, along with Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation for the Chin State U Win Zaw Oo, and departmental heads who are members of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee, inspected the progress of repairing and rebuilding private residential houses and departmental offices that had been damaged by fire in Tonzang Township.

First, the Deputy Minister and officials inspected the land conditions of private residences destroyed by fire due to terrorist acts, as well as the condition of the affected residential buildings. Subsequently, at the meeting hall of the Tonzang Township General Administration Department, they met with construction companies that had successfully won tenders for the repair and reconstruction of departmental office buildings and staff housing. The Deputy Minister urged them to carry out the construction works with quality standards and complete them on time within the stipulated period, and coordinated with relevant responsible officials to address the difficulties raised by the contractors.

Afterward, the Deputy Minister and officials inspected the ongoing repair works at the guesthouse of Road Department, and the Myanmar Radio and Television relay station, where responsible officials explained the status of the renovations. They then inspected the repaired condition of the Byel Kyin ဗျဲလ်ကျင်း Bridge on the Tedim–Tonzang road, which had been destroyed by terrorist bombings. The Deputy Minister instructed officials at various levels to strictly ensure that vehicles and cargo weights crossing the bridge do not exceed the specified limits to maintain the bridge's structural integrity and load-bearing capacity, it’s reported.
