Financial Action: Myanmar delegation attends FATF plenary meeting

A Myanmar delegation led by Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar Dr. Khin Naing Oo attended the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Plenary meeting in Paris, France, from October 26 to 30.

Myanmar has completed 13 of the 15 FATF Action Plans, and the FATF issued a public statement acknowledging the progress on October 30. The statement urged FATF member countries to facilitate humanitarian assistance to Myanmar and remittances from Myanmar migrant workers abroad.

It also encouraged Myanmar to complete the remaining two action plans and strengthen measures to prevent online fraud and illicit financial flows. During the meeting, Dr. Khin Naing Oo led the discussions, while representatives of major FATF member countries expressed support for Myanmar's ongoing efforts.
