Cairo Water Week: MOALI Union Minister attends the meeting in Cairo

At the invitation of Arab Republic of Egypt, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung attended the 9th Cairo Water Week, 2026 held in Cairo from 25th to 29th October.

At the opening ceremony on 25th October, the Egyptian President delivered a video message and representatives from UN Agencies, Ministers from regional countries and Egypt gave words of honor. Next, the Egyptian Prime Minister delivered an opening speech.

Afterwards, the Union Minister joined the Ministerial Level Meeting with the Egyptian President at the Presidential Palace. He also attended the related meetings of the Cairo Water Week. During the trip, the Union Minister met with Egyptian Ministers for Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and Water Resources and Irrigation, and discussed technology exchange and cooperation in agriculture and irrigation sector between two countries.

The Union Minister also observed the Cotton Research Institute, production of vaccines for animals and laboratory, milked cow cultivation, irrigation system via Nile River and water research measures. He also made discussion with officials from General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI)  of Egypt.
