The Asia-Pacific Media Forum was held in Shenzhen, with around 400 representatives from media outlets, think tanks, government bodies and international organizations participating.

The 33rd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting is scheduled to take place in Shenzhen this November.  Ahead of the event, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, Xinhua News Agency, and the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government organized the Asia-Pacific Media Forum to discuss the role of the media in APEC.

More than 220 institutions from 42 countries and regions around the world participated.  Li Shulei, Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, noted the current development of the Asia-Pacific region faces instability,  and expressed hope that media coverage could foster greater unity among Asia-Pacific countries.
