King Charles and Queen Camilla attend Scotland's Highland games

King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended the annual Braemar Gathering at the Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park in Scotland. It was held every year on the first Saturday of September, the Braemar Gathering is a central fixture of the monarch's summer holiday at the nearby Balmoral Estate.

The event showcased traditional Highland games competitions, including caber tossing, tug-of-war, heavy weights, track running, high jump, solo piping, and Highland dancing. King Charles handed out trophies to competition winners, while the royal couple greeted crowd members and dancers during the festivities.

The modern event has been a regular fixture on the royal calendar since 1848, when Queen Victoria first attended after purchasing Balmoral Castle. King Charles III serves as the official patron of the Braemar Royal Highland Society.
