Indian President honours 82 teachers

Indian President Droupadi Murmu presented the National Teachers Awards to 82 educators in New Delhi, recognizing their outstanding contributions to education.

The awards honoured school teachers, higher education faculty and polytechnic teachers from across India. During the event, short documentaries highlighting the exemplary work of each awardee were showcased. Addressing the gathering, President Murmu said the vision of a developed India would only be possible through quality education.

She noted that her own journey as a teacher had brought her to the country’s highest constitutional office. The President also expressed happiness that teachers from rural schools received greater representation in this year’s awards.
