Brazil's data protection regulator (ANPD) on Tuesday fined TikTok parent company nearly $30 million for failing to protect the data and safety of children and teenagers.

The ANPD found that TikTok failed to block underage users and improperly processed the personal data of an estimated eight million minors. Regulators targeted TikTok's "logged-out feed" feature, which allowed users to browse content without an account, circumventing verification and exposing children to targeted advertising.
