Japan Defense Minister Motegi Toshimitsu and Oman counterpart Badr Albusaidi agreed to expand their comprehensive partnership through high-level talks in Muscat on Thursday.

The talks focused on clean energy, economic resilience, and safe maritime navigation amid regional Middle East tensions. Joint collaboration moves forward under a bilateral defense cooperation memorandum, supporting regional stability and vessel replenishment for anti-piracy missions. Discussions included boosting tourist exchanges and bringing international students to Japan via official scholarship programs.
