Singer Shakira calls for 'as much aid as possible' for Choco after Colombia quake

Shakira arrived in Quibdó, Chocó of Colombia, on Monday, to support families affected by the 7.4 magnitude earthquake. The singer would tour some of the hardest-hit areas and announce support initiatives for the affected communities. She would also visit educational projects run by her Pies Descalzos Foundation, which has been working in Quibdó for years.

The artist called for more international support for communities hit by the disaster, said, "All of Colombia is feeling the pain felt by the people of Choco." Shakira also announced $1 million in donations to help rebuild schools in the region.
