Crowds cheer as Brazil's Lula kicks off re-election campaign

A large crowd of supporters greeted Brazil's leftist President Lula da Silva on Sunday as he launched his re-election campaign in Sao Bernando do Campo, in the state of Sao Paulo.

Lula, 80, faces his right-wing rival Flavio Bolsonaro, son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, in the election on October 4 that has many voters feeling a weary sense of deja vu.
