Six workers die after explosion at small Colombian coal mine

Colombian authorities said on Friday that six miners were dead after an explosion trapped them inside the El Porvenir 1 mine in Cucunubá. The National Mining Agency had inspected the site, identified safety deficiencies, and ordered a temporary suspension of operations while an improvement plan was developed.
