Estonian students create inventory of Soviet-era art to reframe complex heritage

Estonian students are documenting Soviet-era monumental and decorative artworks across the country in a project commissioned by the Board of Heritage and organized by the Estonian Academy of Arts and Tallinn University.

The months-long inventory aims to identify artworks, assess their condition and determine which should be preserved or conserved. The project focuses on monumental artworks such as sculptures, paintings and frescoes.
