India and Indonesia on Tuesday signed a landmark $450 million to $600 million defence agreement in Jakarta for the supply of India's BrahMos supersonic cruise missile system to the Indonesian Armed Forces. A contract secured between Indonesia's Ministry of Defense and BrahMos Aerospace.

The versatile missiles, capable of speeds up to Mach 2.8 and ranges up to 500 km, will vastly enhance Indonesia's maritime strike capabilities. This strategic partnership makes Indonesia the second ASEAN nation to acquire the BrahMos system, elevating India's defense footprint in the Indo-Pacific region.
