







The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Central Committee, led by the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, believing that it is especially necessary to end armed conflicts and resolve political issues through political means in carrying out peace processes, extended an invitation on April 21, 2026, through Announcement No. 1/2026, to hold talks without preconditions in order to implement peace processes for the development and stability of the nation.
In response to that invitation, a meeting between the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee and the New Mon State Party (NMSP) was held on Thursday morning in Nay Pyi Taw. Attending the meeting were NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naing, and members of negotiation committee, along with NMSP Vice Chairman Nai Aung Min, central executive Committee and Central Committee members.
At the meeting, NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and NMSP Vice Chairman Nai Aung Min each delivered opening remarks. Following this, those present discussed education, health, regional development matters, the teaching of Mon literature, healthcare workers and medical supplies assistance, the issuance of birth registration certificates in accordance with prescribed formats in Ye Township, Kyar-Inn Seikkyi Township, the western part of Kawkareik Township (south of the Gyaing River), and villages in northern Yephyu Township, Tanintharyi Region, the prioritization of road and bridge construction, and mutual coordination for regional stability.
Subsequently, NSPNC Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naing clarified and discussed regional development matters raised by the NMSP, previous bilateral meeting statuses, and cooperation for regional stability. Afterwards, both sides negotiated to record the discussions and signed to confirm them. Then, NMSP Vice Chairman Nai Aung Min delivered words of thanks, and NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen Yar Pyae gave closing remarks, after which commemorative gifts were exchanged and the meeting was concluded.
