A ceremony commemorating Ho Chi Minh City’s 50th anniversary took place on July 2 at the Reunification Hall. Viet Nam’s sixth National Assembly decided to rename Saigon–Gia Dinh as Ho Chi Minh City 50 years ago. The decision came just over a year after national reunification.
It reflected the Vietnamese people’s respect and gratitude for President Ho Chi Minh while ushering in a new chapter in the city’s development. As the city marks this 50-year milestone, it not only reflects on its achievements but also reaffirms its ambition to become a leading regional centre for finance, commerce, and innovation.
