Amyotha Hluttaw Session: 11th day of 2nd regular session held

The 11th day of the Second Regular Session of the Third Amyotha Hluttaw was held in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday, with 202 of 209 Hluttaw representatives in attendance.

Next, the questions raised by the Amyotha Hluttaw representatives were responded to by Union Minister for Sports, U Ye Myint Tun, and Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, U Bo Bo Kyaw, according to their respective sectors including whether there are plans to construct an indoor gymnasium at the Myoma Sports Ground, located west of the Basic Education High School in Pein San Ward, Mong Ping Township, Shan State (East) asked by Nang Wo Sein (Shan State Constituency No. 12), whether there are plans to sufficiently provide tractors for land preparation during the cultivation season and harvester-threshers for the harvest season to farms within Myittha, Singu, and Kyaukse Townships, Mandalay Region asked by U Khin Maung Win (Mandalay Region Constituency No. 1), whether there are plans to pipe and draw water from the Ngamoeyeik Reservoir near Phaung Gyi Village in Hlegu Township, Yangon Region, to the Nyaung Hnapin Water Treatment Plant; if so, when it will be implemented, and if not, the reasons why, asked by U Ye Yint Soe Nyunt (Yangon Region Constituency No. 7), whether there are plans to repair the damaged sections of the Lay Tu–Sin Lan segment on the Lay Tu–Kun Chan embankment road, which connects Lay Bu Village (Myit Kyoe Village Tract, Thayawaddy Township) and Kwan Chan Village Tract (Letpadan Township, Bago Region), by overlaying them with laterite, asked by U Thein Zaw (Bago Region Constituency No. 8).

Following this, the Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw sought the Hluttaw's approval regarding the formation of the Myanmar-Laos Parliamentary Friendship Association, along with the list of names for its Chairman, Secretary, and committee members. As the Hluttaw approved, the Speaker announced the official formation of the friendship association and the confirmation of its leadership and member lists. The 11th day of the Second Regular Session of the Third Amyotha Hluttaw was then adjourned, and the 12th day of the session will continue on July 3, it’s reported.
