







Central Committee for the Implementation of the Development of Border Areas and National Races held its meeting on Friday.
Chairman of the Central Committee President U Min Aung Hlaing attended the meeting and made a speech.
The President stressed to make efforts for development of border areas and ethnic nationalities, highlighting the need to have peace and stability for achieving this. He added that when the new government took office, it pledged to work toward peace and national development, with the aim of making every effort to achieve peace within five years.
The government had already invited ethnic armed organizations (EAOs) to peace talks. The President reiterated that that all EAOs are welcome to join without any preconditions, adding to use every available channel and make every possible effort to achieve peace for the country's future.
The President also emphasized improving education, health, and human resources, as well as strengthening transportation and communication infrastructure.
He urged the Union government and regional governments to work together for ensuring effective progress in these sectors. He also highlighted the importance of agriculture and livestock sectors, expansion of vocational training schools in states and regions.
The President also said that for the 2026–2027 fiscal year, over 1.3 trillion kyats have been allocated for seven border development subcommittees, and more than 6.4 trillion kyats for nine regional project committees. He stressed the need to carry out the that development efforts in a balanced and systematic way with proper standards, and urged all committee members to work collectively for success.
The attendees reported on work implementations, regional administrative mechanism, combating online scams and drug trafficking, provision of stipends for basic education schools in border areas, appointment of teachers, health care services, human resource development, reclamation of farmlands and provision of seeds and inputs, upgrading of transport infrastructures, drinking water supply, environmental conservation, power supply and plans for development works.
The President gave concluding remarks, calling for effective implementation of the tasks, benefiting the border areas and nationalities.
