Meeting with Staff: MOFA Union Minister gives guidance to diplomatic staff

Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Tin Maung Swe on Thursday met with the officials and staff who are assigned duties at Myanmar Embassies, Myanmar Permanent Mission and Myanmar Consulate-General abroad.

During the meeting, the Union Minister expressed words of honour, instructing to become responsible individual with patriotism. Stating their important role for the Ministry and for the nation, the Union Minister said that the diplomats must aware of political and diplomatic perspectives, adhering to the government's rules and maintaining loyalty to the state and the ministry.

The Union Minister instructed the needs to follow  5 Main Diplomatic Functions while the ministry is building diplomatic relations in a balanced manner, in accordance with Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, especially with neighboring countries, regional countries and other partner countries.

The diplomats are urged to research and follow the culture and traditions of respective countries where they are assigned, continuous monitering on ground situations of mother country and geopolitical trends while reporting the informations to the country in timely manner.

The Union Minister stressed the need to exchange views with their international counterparts regarding the policies, attitudes, and actual situations of the country. He urged all to strive capacity building to become qualified diplomats.
