


Japan’s SoftBank Group plans to work with the US firm OpenAI to provide cybersecurity for infrastructure-related companies in Japan. Advanced AI models such as Anthropic’s Claude Mythos are thought to pose serious risks to financial systems and other critical sectors.
Speaking in Tokyo on Tuesday, SoftBank Group Chairman and CEO Son Masayoshi said he’s worried about the potential threats. He said SoftBank and OpenAI aim to launch the security services by the end of the year. OpenAI has developed a model said to be on par with Claude Mythos. The technology will help identify and rectify software vulnerabilities for clients, such as banks, utilities, and transit operators.
