Encouraging Landmines Victims :Taninthayi Region CM encouraged landmines victims

Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U Zaw Naing Oo, accompanied by the responsible officials, visited the Dawei General Hospital Wednesday morning to observe and encourage innocent civilians who were receiving medical treatment for injuries caused by landmines planted by insurgent terrorists.

The Chief Minister also met and encouraged an innocent civilian who had lost both legs due to a landmine explosion caused by mines planted by terrorists. He provided the victim with a wheelchair and financial assistance for use during recovery.

Afterward, the Chief Minister visited and encouraged other civilians receiving treatment at the hospital, including a victim who had lost one leg due to a landmine explosion, another with a broken leg, and another who had lost one arm, as well as patients hospitalized for various other reasons. He individually asked about their injuries, medical treatment, ongoing healthcare conditions, and improvements in their health, while also providing financial support.

The Chief Minister then inspected roadside drainage ditches along the neighborhood road in front of Basic Education High School No. 2 in Bummaw Ward, following requests from local residents. He instructed responsible officials that necessary work should be carried out to prevent flooding during the rainy season and emphasized the importance of ensuring long-term durability and sustainability in the implementation of such projects.

Afterward, the Chief Minister warmly greeted elderly residents living at the Dawei Yeiktha compound, asked about their health conditions, and responsible officials presented individual donations to the elderly residents, who in return offered prayers and blessings.

The Chief Minister also donated one million kyats for healthcare and general welfare use for the elderly residents and observed healthcare personnel from the Public Health and Medical Services Department providing medical examinations and treatment to the elderly, it’s reported.
