Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi formally welcomed the initial memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran aimed at ending hostilities. Prime Minister Takaichi praised the framework agreement, calling it a "major step toward bringing the situation to a close."

On social media and during official press briefings, she credited the breakthrough to the persistent diplomatic efforts of the negotiating parties and expressed gratitude toward the international mediators who helped facilitate the deal. The Prime Minister strongly emphasized that the steady implementation of the MoU must effectively guarantee "free and safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz."
