








The 5th day of 2nd regular session of 3rd Pyithu Hluttaw was held today, June 10, at 10:00 a.m. in the Pyithu Hluttaw meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw. Of the 351 representatives entitled to attend, 349 were present.
According to the agenda, the question-and-answer session began. U Khin Maung Than, representative from Kalay constituency, raised a question asking whether a bridge could be constructed across the Myittha River from the Aung Myittar Ward (Pyin Thar) jetty in Kalay Township to Inn Kyaw အင်းကျော် Village. U Win Myint, representative from Twante constituency, asked whether there were plans to upgrade and rebuild the Twante Township Development Committee market into a district-level market. Along with these, a total of six questions were raised. Deputy Minister for Construction U Myo Myint, Nay Pyi Taw Council members U Khin Maung Latt, and U Win Moe Khine responded to the questions.
Afterward, the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw submitted to the Hluttaw the formation of the Border Areas, Ethnic Affairs, and Peace Committee with 15 members, including U Soe Tint Naing from Magway constituency as Chairperson and U Ye Htut Aung from Minbu constituency as Secretary. The approval of the Hluttaw regarding the committee’s duties, powers, rights, term, and meetings were sought, and the speaker officially announced the formation of the committee.
The Speaker then explained matters relating to the formation of the Farmers’ Affairs Committee, the Youth, Women, Children and Elderly Rights Committee, the Education Promotion Committee, and the Domestic and Overseas Labor Affairs Committee. The Deputy Speaker also clarified the duties, powers, rights, terms, and meetings related to these committees.
Following this, the Speaker submitted to the Hluttaw the lists of chairpersons, secretaries, and members of the respective committees.
Today’s meeting was adjourned at 11:16 a.m., and it was announced that the sixth day of the meeting would continue on June 11 at 10:00 a.m., it’s reported.
