“At present, schools have already reopened and classes are being conducted, so it is necessary to ensure that teaching staff and students can study safely and securely. In particular, special attention must be given to security matters in areas where acts of sabotage and destruction have previously occurred.

It is also necessary to ensure that accurate information about the real situation on the ground is obtained in a timely manner and promptly reported to higher authorities. Union ministers, as well as region and state chief ministers, also need to personally conduct field inspections and engage directly with local communities in order to clearly understand the actual conditions on the ground within their respective ministries and regions.”

These remarks were included in the speech delivered by President U Min Aung Hlaing at the Union Government Meeting of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, held Tuesday morning at the Union Government Meeting Hall of the President’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw.

The meeting was attended by Vice Presidents U Nyo Saw and Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye, Union ministers, and the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, while region and state chief ministers participated via video conferencing. During the meeting, the President said that the country’s economic development means increased prosperity for the people.

Therefore, while the government, relevant ministries, and region and state governments have responsibilities in promoting prosperity, the public must also actively participate and work together. He stated that the government is currently facing many challenges and shortcomings and that efforts must continually be made to correct weaknesses within the government.

The President also emphasized the importance of developing the agriculture and livestock sectors, ensuring that all school-age children can attend school through collective efforts, promoting the growth of MSMEs, and ensuring the continuous operation of both private and state-owned factories throughout the country.

He highlighted the need to make effective use of land and water resources for agriculture and livestock farming. The President further noted that in some areas where there are limitations in fully maintaining stability, peace, and the rule of law, excessive illegal gold mining activities near rivers and streams have caused silting, increased sediment deposits, and damage to waterways.

He stressed that local administrative officials must effectively suppress illegal gold mining activities in order to protect the country’s valuable water resources, preserve the environment, and prevent flooding. He also urged local residents to cooperate in protecting national interests by reporting illegal gold mining activities in their areas to the relevant authorities.

In addition, the President stressed the need to further develop livestock breeding activities according to regional conditions. Afterward, Union ministers presented discussions and reports related to their respective sectors. In his concluding remarks, the President stated that security inspections and supervisory measures are being carried out in various regions and states.

However, he emphasized that such inspections should strictly serve security purposes and should not become a burden on the public. While inspections related to security, prevention of illegal trade, and anti-drug efforts are acceptable, he stressed that illegal collection of money or extortion must not occur. He also instructed responsible officials to systematically supervise and conduct inspections properly, etc., it’s reported.
