Xi, Kim stress unity but make no nuclear announcement

Chinese President Xi Jinping and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un have agreed to boost bilateral ties in a show of unity. Xi arrived in North Korea on Monday for his first visit since 2019 and joined talks with Kim after a welcome ceremony.

During a banquet after their talks, Xi said he agreed with Kim that their countries will develop ties through high-level exchanges and practical cooperation. Kim said he and Xi exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interest.
