Disaster Management : Coordination meeting on disaster management

Magwe Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko attended the 2026 Disaster Management Coordination Meeting of the regional disaster management committee on Saturday.

During the meeting, he urged officials to strengthen preparedness for natural disasters, including storms, floods, earthquakes, droughts, heatwaves, and water shortages. He emphasized the need for early planning, emergency response measures, evacuation arrangements, and support for affected communities.

Officials from 12 working groups reported on disaster relief and coordination efforts across the region. The Chief Minister also discussed ways to improve cooperation among agencies and ensure readiness to minimize the impact of future disasters.
