







Kayah State Chief Minister U Ant Maw attended the first monsoon tree planting festival of 2026 at Loikaw University on Saturday.
Officials, government staff, and local residents joined the event, where 2,000 trees from 15 different species, including teak and padauk, were planted. In his speech, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of forests in protecting the environment, preventing natural disasters, and supporting sustainable development.
After the ceremony, the Chief Minister visited a model farm operated by the State Agriculture Department in Naung Yar (A) Ward. He inspected crop cultivation and urged officials to improve pest control, increase productivity, and provide farmers with practical agricultural training. He also viewed the successful cultivation of vegetables and perennial crops at the farm.
