BRICS culture delegates explore India’s Buddhist heritage

Foreign delegates attending the BRICS Culture Working Group meeting in Varanasi visited Sarnath on Saturday to experience India’s rich Buddhist heritage and living cultural traditions. Following the conclusion of the two-day BRICS Culture Working Group meeting in Varanasi, delegates toured Sarnath, where Gautama Buddha is believed to have delivered his first sermon.

During the visit, the delegates explored Mulagandha Kuti Vihara and observed the historic Dhamek Stupa, expressing appreciation for the site’s spiritual and historical significance.
