India and Zimbabwe strengthen defense cooperation

India and Zimbabwe on Thursday reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation during the inaugural meeting of the India-Zimbabwe Joint Defense Committee held in New Delhi. The meeting was co-chaired by Joint Secretary for International Cooperation in India’s Ministry of Defence, and Zimbabwe’s Permanent Secretary.

During the discussions, both sides agreed to enhance defense ties by expanding cooperation in areas such as training, support and maintenance of common air assets. They also explored opportunities for collaboration in new fields including joint manufacturing, counter-terrorism, border management and peacekeeping.
