India hosts BRICS meetings on disaster risk reduction and cultural cooperation

India is hosting two concurrent, major BRICS meetings, running from June 4 to 5, focusing on disaster risk reduction and cultural cooperation. The gatherings in Puri and Varanasi have brought together delegates from member nations to strengthen collaboration across the bloc.

Focuses include innovative disaster financing, the impact of AI on creative industries, the protection and restitution of cultural property. Under its BRICS Chairmanship, these two working group brings together disaster management experts and policymakers from 11 BRICS countries.
