Inspection Tour: Rakhine State CM conducted inspection tour

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Naing Oo, conducted an inspection tour in Sittwe Wednesday morning to assess preparations for reopening weaving and vocational training courses aimed at promoting the development of MSMEs and creating job opportunities for temporarily displaced persons.

First, the Chief Minister and officials visited the Weaving and Vocational Training School (Sittwe), where they inspected the readiness of dormitories and weaving looms for trainees in preparation for reopening training programs. The Chief Minister instructed responsible officials to make arrangements for recruiting trainees and reopening the courses, and to promptly submit any requirements that may arise. They also observed and encouraged former trainees who were engaged in practical weaving activities within the school compound.

The Chief Minister and officials then met with staff from the Department of Rural Development in the State. Following presentations by the department, the Chief Minister asked questions to clarify certain matters, discussed the issues raised, and provided necessary instructions.

Afterward, the Chief Minister and officials visited sites where temporarily displaced persons who had previously attended courses at the Weaving and Vocational Training School (Sittwe) were residing. They observed weaving activities being carried out by residents as small-scale family income-generating businesses and coordinated with relevant officials to address any needs and requirements.

The Chief Minister and officials then visited the Public Health Department in the State, where they inspected the systematic storage of medicines in the pharmaceutical warehouse. They also visited and inspected the site designated for the construction of the office of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA).

On the afternoon of June 2, the Rakhine State Chief Minister conducted inspections of ongoing development projects in Sittwe. During the visit, he inspected the Buddha Museum and reviewed renovation work being carried out on the “Let Us Preserve Our Ancient Heritage” exhibition hall under the supervision of the Rakhine State Government. He also inspected the construction of a new signboard for the Nursing Science Institute (Sittwe) and provided guidance and instructions on necessary matters, it’s reported.
