Voters in Malta voiced concerns over overcrowding, wages and traffic on the eve of a general election expected to hand Prime Minister Robert Abela’s Labour Party a fourth consecutive term in office.

Abela called the snap election last month, saying a fresh mandate was needed amid rising geopolitical tensions. Some voters said party loyalty remains a key factor in Maltese politics despite growing concerns over the cost of living and population growth.

Antoine Borg, Space Engineer said "Maltese politics tends to be tribal. I think that it'll be more a matter of people voting for who they usually vote for or who they've always voted for”.

Other voters pointed to overcrowding, low wages and increased competition for jobs as major election issues.
