Relief Items: Cash and kinds provided for returnees to Pekon

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement provides relief items to the returnees in Pekon of Shan State (South) on Thursday.

Union Minister Dr Soe Win, in his capacity as the Vice Chairman of the National Disaster Management Committee attended the event and made a speech. A total of 130.4 million kyats cash assistance were provided for over 6,500 people, covering more than 1,800 households. In addition, over 21.6 million kyat were provided for elder persons, children aged under five and pregnant mother. Likewise, Buddha images, foodstuff and relief items were also provided during the event.
