The Tatmadaw is conducting counter-terrorism operations in townships, villages, and areas temporarily controlled by terrorist insurgents to ensure the peaceful coexistence of the people and the development of their socio-economic lives.
As part of these efforts, the Tatmadaw was able to fully recapture Falam Township, which had been temporarily controlled by terrorist insurgents, on April 25. While the areas around Falam Township were under the temporary control of terrorist insurgents, local ethnic residents were forced to flee their homes and properties.
Due to the loss of their human rights, the decline in their economic, social, health, and educational conditions, and the negative consequences of the conflict they had to face, the local people welcomed the Tatmadaw's full recapture of the area with great joy. It is also reported that some local ethnic residents who had been temporarily displaced are now returning to their hometowns.
Today on May 6th, to provide necessary assistance to the local people of Falam and to reopen government administrative mechanisms, schools, and hospitals, departmental organizations, the departmental personnel departed from Kalay Township on Wednesday morning with necessary relief supplies by motor vehicles, arriving in Falam Township in the evening.
They were warmly welcomed by the local ethnic residents. The Tatmadaw columns, together with local residents, will undertake the urgent repair and reconstruction of schools, hospitals/clinics, office buildings, religious structures, and homes destroyed by terrorist insurgents in Falam Township. The Tatmadaw columns will also continue to enhance and carry out necessary security operations to ensure the people can live in peace.
