





A total of six individuals including five men and one woman from a group so-called PDF, who have come to understand the peace processes of the state and the military, have entered the legal fold along with weapons and ammunition in the area of the Coastal Region Military Command. A ceremony to welcome and accept these six PDF members who have re-entered the legal fold, and to hand them back over to their parents or guardians, was held Tuesday morning at the Taing Yan Aung Hall of the Coastal Region Military Command.
The Region Chief Minister U Zaw Naing Oo delivered a speech, and the Regional Commander, Ma-J Gen. Kyaw Kyaw Han, provided legal education and clarification. Afterwards, those who had re-entered the legal fold handed over the weapons and ammunition they had brought with them including one M4A1 rifle, one MA5 pistol, three assorted magazines, 57 rounds of assorted ammunition, and two MG-1 hand grenades.
The Regional Commander received these items. Subsequently, responsible officials provided rewards 5 million kyats for one bolt-action rifle; 2 million kyats for one pistol; 300,000 kyats for two hand grenades; and 6 million kyats (1.5 million kyats per person) for the individuals who entered the legal fold. After having them sign the pledge documents, they were handed back over to their parents or guardians, it’s reported.
