Football for Schools: Opening ceremony of the training course held in Pathein

"In accordance with the directive to implement a pilot project within 100 days in schools across Yangon Region, Mandalay Region, Ayeyawady Region, Bago Region, and Shan State, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth Affairs, and the Myanmar Football Federation, the Ayeyawady Region today held the opening ceremony of a 'Football for Schools' training course," said Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw.

He made this remark at the opening ceremony of the football training course, jointly conducted under the supervision of the Ayeyawady Region Government as a pilot project by the Region Sports and Physical Education Department and the Region Basic Education Department, held on the evening of May 4th at the Kothein Sports Ground.

At the ceremony, the Region Chief Minister presented sports equipment for Pathein Township, Kyaung Gone Township, Hinthada Township, Maungmya Township, and Laputta Township; energy drinks for the trainees; and cash of honor for the South-West Command Military Band. Afterwards, he observed and encouraged demonstration training sessions by football and track-and-field teams. He also presented cash awards to the U-18 football, badminton, and track-and-field teams that will compete in the Region and State Sports Competition, and cordially greeted the athletes.

On the morning of May 5th, Region Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw and officials attended the 80th Anniversary Ceremony of the Myanmar Fire Brigade held at Pathein City Hall, delivered a speech, and presented commendation certificates and cash awards to the prize recipients, it’s reported.
