






A coordination meeting to implement the directives of the President regarding the trip on May 2, was held on the morning of May 4 at the Mingala Hall of the Yangon Region Government Office. The meeting was attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu, members of the region Government, heads of region departments, chairpersons of district administration and management committees and responsible officials.
During the meeting, Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu delivered an opening address. He instructed relevant departmental officials in detail, emphasizing the need to ensure systematic arrangements of electric poles and wires along the left and right sides of roads to maintain the city's order and harmony with urban characteristics. He noted that telecommunication wires tangled on electric poles are widespread across the city, requiring collaboration among responsible regional government officials, relevant departments, and telecommunication companies to swiftly implement an underground cable network system. He called for joint on-site assessments using assistance from technology university students to survey and measure drainage systems and water flow volumes to ensure proper water flow within wards and roads. He stressed the daily supervision to keep roadsides and wards free of garbage. He ordered the prompt submission of designs for constructing parks proportionate to township populations in accordance with set guidelines. He directed responsible officials to legally inspect and remove encroachments, shop openings, and building constructions on road boundaries and roadside platforms. He also called for swift actions to regulate undisciplined buses and taxis, ensure proper traffic lanes, road markings, and directional signs etc.
Subsequently, attendees discussed and clarified the respective processes, and Chief Minister delivered concluding remarks, providing coordinated guidance across different work sectors based on the presentations made, it’s reported.
