Development Works: Immunization Week activities and development works

A ceremony marking the World Immunization Week 2026 was held at Khaing Thazin hall of Sittwe on 3rd May with the attendance of Rakhine State Chief Minister U Naing Oo.

The Chief Minister stated that the theme of World Immunization week 2026 is “For every generation, vaccines work” and the event aims to raise awareness of Immunization to all age of public. He added that immunization can prevent diseases and infections, causalities and  consequences of the diseases.

The immunization campaign also included in 100-days project and regular vaccination measures will be carried out in Rakhine State as priority one. Then the documentary videos regarding the vaccination and immunization week were screened.

After that, the Chief Minister and wife and officials encouraged the regular vaccination for children under 1-year of age, and provided gifts and nutritious supplements. The Chief Minister and party later inspected the upgrading of LatMaChay -Tharyarkone-KoeSaung village road, ThinGaNat village’s road and Concrete drainage system.

On 2nd May, the Chief Minister and party inspected the sites for concrete paving, construction of retaining wall the Baily Bridge crossing Aung Dai Creek.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister stressed that emphasis are needed to complete the projects in designated time, meeting the set standards.
