




The Special Exhibition on the 70th Anniversary of the Sixth Buddhist Council will be on display until May 10 at Maha Pasana Cave on Thiri Mingala KabaAye Hill in Yangon.
Since its opening on April 30, the exhibition has attracted large crowds, and the public can visit free of charge from 9:00 am. to 5:00 pm.
The exhibition features 10 sections, including the life of the Buddha; the convening of the Buddhist Councils, the construction of Maha Pasana Cave, statues of prominent Sayadaws from five Theravada countries, religious items used during the Sixth Buddhist Council, items donated from foreign countries, ancient printing tools and three printed Tipitaka treatises, the process of publishing Attha Kahta, translations of Pali, Myanmar, and English texts, and religious buildings.
The First Buddhist Council was convened in the 1st year of the Buddhist Era, the Second in the 100th year, the Third in the 235th year, the Fourth in the 450th year, the Fifth in the 2415th year, and the Sixth in the 2498th year. The year 2026 marks the 70th Anniversary of the Sixth Buddhist Council.
The Special Exhibition on the 70th Anniversary of the Sixth Buddhist Council is being displayed to promote the flourishing of the original Sasana of the Buddha, to show the process of preserving the Buddha Sasana through the convening of Buddhist Councils, and to highlight the safeguarding of the Buddha Sasana across successive eras with the collaboration of venerable Sayadaws, governments, and the people.
