Food Sufficiency: Effort for enhancing meat production

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation is striving to secure local food sufficiency and to enhance meat production for growing market demand. 

Deputy Minister Dr. Ye Tun Win on Saturday met with the growers from Kan Gyi and Shwe Myo livestock breeding zones in Tatkone Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory.

During the meeting, the Deputy Minister encouraged on systematic animal feed management, modern livestock breeding system, long-term resilience of the livestock breeding zones keeping a balance between department and private sector.

The meeting also emphasized on biosecurity measures, disease prevention and acceleration of modern finished product production. Next, the Deputy Minister and officials inspected poultry farm and goat farm and provided necessary instructions on cost reduction.
