







A ceremony of pouring water on the Bodhi Tree by the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar was held April 30 within the precincts of the Maravijaya Buddha Park in Nay Pyi Taw, with the attendance of Vice Presidents U Nyo Saw, and Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye.
First, Vice President U Nyo Saw and his wife paid homage to the Maravijaya Buddha image by offering flowers, water, and oil lamps.
Afterwards, Vice President U Nyo Saw and his wife, Vice President Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye, Union-level dignitaries and their wives, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander in Chief (Army) and his wife, Union Ministers and their wives, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, and attendees took their designated places.
They then sprinkled scented water and poured water in obeisance to the Maha Bodhi Tree. Subsequently, they poured water on the Buddha images at the base of the Great Maha Bodhi Tree and circumambulated the tree clockwise in reverence.
After that, the Vice Presidents and attendees warmly greeted pilgrims and members of the public who had come to pay homage at the Maravijaya Buddha Park, including the Great Maravijaya Buddha image, the Gandhakuti halls, the Stone Inscription Stupa, the Mucalinda မုစလိႏၵ Lake, and the Naga coiled Pagoda image, as well as other pagodas, monasteries, lakes, and religious buildings. They also toured the Buddha Day exhibition floats.
