Presidential Pardon: President Office issues Order No. 51/2026

The President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, on the occasion of the Full Moon Day of Kason (Buddha Day) falling on the full moon day of Kason, 1388 ME for the tranquility of the people and with regard for humanitarian compassion and to enable them to participate in nation-building hereby grants a pardon under Section 401, Subsection (1) of the Criminal Procedure Code to 1,508 prisoners currently serving sentences in various prisons/jails/camps, by reducing the remainder of their sentences, subject to the condition that "If the offense is committed again, the remaining sentence from this pardon shall be served in addition to the sentence for the new offense."

The order was signed by the President U Min Aung.
