Granting Pardon: President Office issues Order No. 50/2026

Office of the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar issued an Order No. 50 / 2026 Granting Pardon on 15th waxing day of Kason, 1388 ME, April 30, 2026.

It’s stated in the order that the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, on the occasion of the Full Moon Day of Kason (Buddha Day) falling on the full moon day of Kason, 1388 ME for the tranquility of the people and with regard for humanitarian compassion and with the aim of making them understand the State's loving-kindness and goodwill, hereby grants a pardon under Section 401, Subsection (1) of the Criminal Procedure Code to prisoners currently serving sentences in various prisons/jails/camps in connection with offenses committed before the full moon day of Kason, 1388 ME (April 30, 2026), by reducing one-sixth of the remainder of their sentences.

The order was signed by the President U Min Aung Hlaing.
